Fun With Fibers

A technique tip from Sunshine... you simply ink up a rubber stamp image (using a Brillance or a juicy pigment inkpad).... pull fibers (Angelina fibers... scroll down page a bit to see the individual packs... "hot fix" ones... http://www.sewthankful.com/AngelinaFibers.html) apart and place about 3 or 4 thin layers of them on TOP of the inked image... cover with a small piece of parchment baking paper... and firmly press with an iron (using WARM setting)... for just a few seconds... keep the iron moving so the fibers do not burn to the paper... then you pull the paper off the stamp... and the image has been transferred onto the "fused" fibers... now I want to try this with ALL my rubber stamps (and I have HUNDREDS of them)... sigh... the first one (using a lady image bought at Stampo's), is my absolute FAVORITE one... so far... lol...

Viva Las Vegastamps! is GREEN!

Viva Las Vegastamps! has taken "Going Green" to a totally new level! Today I received my order and had my laugh for the day. My husband brought in the mail and wanted to know who was mailing me a Stauffer's Meatloaf Dinner!! When I saw the return address, I cracked up! What a GREAT and UNIQUE idea!!! Thanks for the laugh!!> > Nancy

Viva Las Vegastamps Factory Fire

Viva Las Vegastamps! fire pictures... this was our factory... the fire department created a lot of damage getting in through two wrought iron gates, the door... and then they cut a hole in the ceiling... with the a/c down, we're unable to press in this heat... we're very fortunate nothing was burned inside but it's a pain nonetheless with the damage to the roof and a/c... waiting for a report from the fire department as I'm not sure whether the a/c caught on fire or it was arson.

Visiting your amazing stamp store from Israel

My name is Efrat and I'm from Israel.I visited your wonderful stamp store about three weeks ago, when I was in Vegas with my daughter and her family.I got the address from the great Polymer Clay artist Julie Picarello!! It was such a pleasure to visit in this amazing world of stamps!!!I wish I had more time there... I took some pix and I'm sendind them to you.I also wrote about this wonderland of stamps in our Polymer Clay Forum !! Best regards Efrat Ra'anana Israel

On the Midwest Stampers' List

You MUST visit Viva Las Vegastamps. It is a delightful store packed full of stamps, and you will find yourself walking around the store laughing out loud at the funny stuff and being amazed by the variety of images. Things you would never have thought of as a stamp will be on the shelves. Stampo also has a blackjack table in there with a pile of rubber on top, and that's the rubber pit. Lots and lots of wonderful images at discount prices in the rubber pit. He also bought out inventory from the recently closed store Las Vegas Art Stamps, which was also a really nice store.
It's not easy to find, because even though the address is on Sahara Avenue, it's actually in a little "office mall" type place down a short alley off of Sahara Avenue. It's not too far off of Las Vegas Blvd, and when you see the Keys Lounge (or Keyes Lounge -- but I don't think it has the "e" on Keys), there is a little alleyway next to it. It's just down that little alley (it's not really an alley, but rather, a very small street -- the word "alley" denotes a creepy feeling, and it's not creepy at all... just an extension of the street). I highly recommend calling them before you go to get directions; for all I know, by now the Keys Lounge has changed names!)
It is a WONDERFUL place and well worth the trouble of finding it!!!! I've actually only been there once, and it was easily 10 years ago, and the memories of that visit are firmly in my brain....that's how great I found that store!
Patty

PS from Stampo... Keys Lounge is now called Square Apple and we're right behind it... and we've doubled the size of our store.
